Fang creates contemporary fashion that fuses technology, culture and an emotional connection.
The Lovely Atmosphere
Attendees of the show include hallmark names such as Camille Razat, Ella Eyre, and Tigerlily Taylor. Guests lined the front rows, sitting on red cushions along the brick moat wearing their most whimsical outfits imitating a child’s fairytale. Brands such as Susan Fang and Ashley Williams dressed attendees in long gathered skirts, or satin pink dresses embellished with a bed.
The show’s atmosphere readily reflected the dreamscape inspiration Fang describes for the collection, with models walking on a stone paved runway floating atop a small moat of water. Architectural structures lined the backdrop which complemented the green flora, creating a serene backdrop for the ethereal designs. Models strutted down in looks that featured vibrant colors such as cyan blue, blush pinks, and lilacs, complimented with cloud dancer white and browns. The collection featured an array of silhouettes, from classic sheath dresses, babydoll mini dresses and maxi length skirts all featuring a surface manipulation to tie back to the wispy theme.
Whimsy & Love Personified
Multiple looks demonstrated a soft airy feel through their textile manipulation. Organza-like fabrics fold together to create voluminous butterfly interpretations. See-through, pigmented, sheer dresses are lined with gathers, creating cloud like hemlines. Some looks include chic tiers embellished with a bow or appliqué complimented by the soft color palette of the collection. All the dresses were paired with delicately bold jewelry complimenting each silhouette.
It’s All in the Details
The looks were enhanced with the models soft cherub makeup looks. Subtle pigment and flushed faces tied the dream like collection together. Consequently, hairstyles featured golden floral clips. To follow the theme, accessories like mini purses utilized the same vibrant hues as the looks themselves. In addition, handbags were intricately woven while others were a fringe of color matching the model’s textured shoes.
Collaborations for the show included Crocs, Bambu Lab, and Jade Master Li Ke. Models exhibited the new Crocs x Susan Fang shoe the Echo Blume. The shoe features a mule shape and iridescent sections decked out in customized floral jibitz.
