Sergio Hudson Collection 10

Sergio Hudson Collection 10

Sergio Hudson showed his latest, now season-less collection titled Collection 10 with exciting prints, color-blocking, and fine tailoring. This collection was honestly the best I have seen during this entire NYFW.

Hudson presented black and white looks including cocktail dresses, shawl collar coats and a hand beaded sequin abstract animal print gown. Bold prints were represented in striped and polka dot wool crepe suiting, silk chiffon blouses, cropped and full length jackets, and a rouché bodice four ply silk crepe gown. Hudson debuted new techniques with his piece work leather, suede and velvet jackets, evening gowns and skirts. Keeping with his knack for eye-catching color, Hudson provided color blocking pieces in cobalt blue, terracotta, chartreuse and royal purple inspired by African tribal masks. These looks gave the meaning of a career woman holding her own, strong and powerful.

The inspiration behind the collection began with Prince and The New Power Generation and the sheer confidence and artistry of the era. The collection, as always, was designed with the desire to make women feel sexy and powerful. “I wanted to do something that was beautiful, bold, and overtly glamorous and sexy, while still maintaining a clean and modern feel.”

Hudson collaborated with Malone Souliers again this season to produce footwear to match each look with his aesthetic including two styles: the Mimi and the Nana offered in Stretch Satin, Suede, Velvet and Nappa Leather in rich colors and metallics. This was a must see show and if you missed out, then you missed a big moment in NYFW.

The Sergio Hudson Collection 10 will be available for purchase this fall at SergioHudson.com and through select retailers. Styles from the Malone Souliers for Sergio Hudson collaboration will also be available this fall at MaloneSouliers.com and SergioHudson.com.
