Santoni Explores Craftmanship and Connection for SS2027
For Spring/Summer 2027, Italian luxury footwear and leather goods house Santoni presents The Art of Encounter, a collection centered on the meaningful connections between people, craftsmanship, and contemporary living. Rooted in the idea that creativity flourishes through exchange, the season explores the dialogue between tradition and innovation, heritage and modernity.
At the heart of the collection is the iconic Carlo loafer. Celebrated for its Goodyear Reverse construction, which provides exceptional softness, flexibility, and lightness, the beloved silhouette returns with a new personalized touch. Through Santoni’s One Live personalization service and One of One customization program, clients can select interchangeable tassels, allowing each pair to become a unique expression of individuality.
Innovation continues with the Ira double-buckle shoe, crafted in supple Seta suede and finished with an Origine full-grain calfskin toe featuring Santoni’s signature Velatura hand-coloring technique. The sophisticated interplay of materials also extends to the Arlo bag, a relaxed yet elevated take on modern luxury.
The collection also introduces a more urban perspective with the Oscar double-buckle loafer and Didi work bag. Made from Origine leather, the Oscar updates a classic silhouette with contemporary proportions and Goodyear Reverse construction, while the Didi bag balances practicality with refined craftsmanship.
Ease and versatility define the season’s casual offerings. The Off-Duty sneaker combines sneaker comfort with traditional shoemaking expertise, while the Weekender sneaker embraces a lighter approach to everyday elegance. Complementing these styles is the Eco bag, a reversible shopping tote crafted from Granato calfskin and Seta suede. Designed to be customized with charms and coordinating accessories, the bag reflects the growing desire for self-expression and adaptable luxury.
Alongside its men’s collection, Santoni offers a preview of its Spring/Summer 2027 women’s line. Inspired by some of the Maison’s most enduring masculine icons, the collection delivers a contemporary and refined interpretation of femininity while remaining deeply rooted in heritage and timeless elegance.
The Carla loafer mirrors the enduring appeal of the Carlo, while the women’s Off-Duty sneaker, Weekender sneaker, and Ira double-buckle reinterpret established menswear codes through softer proportions and a distinctly feminine sensibility. Together, both collections exist in conversation, sharing a common design language while maintaining their own identities.
Throughout the collection, Santoni’s artisanal techniques take center stage. Intrecci, the intricate hand-weaving of fine leather strips, introduces texture and movement across footwear and accessories. Serpentine, created through the careful placement of slender leather strips, adds sculptural dimension, while Sigillo, the Maison’s iconic hand-stitching technique, becomes a visible symbol of connection and craftsmanship.
During Milan Fashion Week, Santoni welcomes guests to its Via Monte Napoleone showroom for an intimate presentation inspired by the theme of encounter. A sculptural infinity-shaped table showcases five defining elements of the Maison—Arancio Santoni, Seta, Velatura, Serpentine, and Goodyear Reverse construction—while live demonstrations highlight the artistry behind the brand’s signature techniques, from the creation of interchangeable tassels to the meticulous hand-stitching process.
With The Art of Encounter, Santoni continues to celebrate the relationship between maker, material, and wearer. The Spring/Summer 2027 collection honors the Maison’s heritage while embracing the rhythms of contemporary life, reaffirming craftsmanship as not merely a technique, but as an enduring expression of human connection.
