NARDOS SS27 Finds Beauty Between Art and Nature
For Spring/Summer 2027, NARDOS turns to the enduring relationship between art and nature with “An Endless Conversation Between Art and Nature,” a couture collection shaped by sculptural silhouettes, intricate craftsmanship, and the fleeting beauty of flowers.
Creative Director Nardos Imam found inspiration during travels across Europe, where visits to museums, historic gardens, and architectural landmarks offered a closer look at how generations of artists have interpreted nature through color, movement, light, and form. Renaissance and Neoclassical works became particularly influential, reinforcing the idea that nature is not simply decorative, but an essential source of artistic expression.
That perspective carries directly into SS27. Architectural silhouettes are softened by organic floral forms, creating gowns that appear simultaneously structured and alive. Elaborate embroidery moves across the body like blossoming gardens, while dimensional textures recall petals, leaves, and natural landscapes.
The color story is equally romantic. Botanical hues, delicate neutrals, and painterly shades draw from the gardens, artwork, architecture, and luminous European scenery encountered throughout Imam’s travels.
At the center of the collection is one of the designer’s most enduring inspirations: the flower.
For Imam, flowers represent both the fragility and permanence of beauty. A bloom may survive for only days, yet its color, fragrance, and emotional impression can remain in memory long afterward. NARDOS translates that sentiment into couture designed to leave a similarly lasting impression.
Each gown is treated as an individual work of art. Sculpted construction meets hand-finished embellishment, while embroidered motifs and meticulous detailing highlight the hours of craftsmanship behind each piece. Rather than separating technical precision from emotion, the collection allows the two to exist together.
“This collection is a conversation between art and nature,” Imam explains. “I have always been drawn to flowers because they remind us that beauty is both precious and fleeting.”
Her European journey also brought renewed appreciation for artists who spent years perfecting individual works, inspiring a collection centered on patience, intention, and permanence.
“With this collection, I wanted to create garments that feel like living works of art where sculptural couture meets the softness of nature,” Imam adds. “Every work of art begins with hope, and every flower reminds us that beauty always finds a way to bloom again.”
With Spring/Summer 2027, NARDOS transforms couture into its own living garden, bringing together the permanence of art and the ephemeral beauty of nature through garments intended not only to be admired, but remembered.
