Naomi Osaka Collabs With Levi’s For Upcycled Denim Collection

There’s no stopping the tennis star Naomi Osaka nowadays. From making her mark on tennis courts, having her own doll, and landing fashion collaborations, Osaka has no plans of slowing down anytime soon. On Aug. 16, Osaka shared her news of Levi’s collaboration with her 2.8 million Instagram followers.
In her Instagram post, we see a clip of Osaka sipping on a drink while dressed up in a denim piece. The featured piece is one of the pieces from the Naomi x Levi’s collection. She captioned her post, “@levis x Naomi 🐻🌸, a limited edition collab, dropping 08.24.21.”

The Naomi x Levi’s collection will feature limited edition pieces made entirely from Levi’s vintage upcycled denim. In this collection, there will be special details added to create an homage to Osaka’s Japanese heritage. There will be a denim kimono and matching obi belt.
Osaka shared in a statement that, “I always loved wearing kimonos when I was a kid.” She added, “So, to be able to do it in denim felt really different and a bit unexpected.” Other collection pieces include a trucker jacket bustier with a lace-up backside and two denim shorts. One of the denim shorts will also have a lace-up backside.

Levi’s took many pieces from their upcycled denim such as men’s jeans and trucker jackets to create these pieces. This adds a great sustainable touch to the entire collection. Alternatively, Osaka also had the chance to be involved in the creation process alongside Levi’s design team. Which makes the collection a lot more personal and authentic to Osaka.
Customers will get a sense of Osaka’s special style which is sporty yet feminine at the same time. The Naomi Osaka x Levi’s collection will be set to debut on Tuesday, Aug. 24 on Levi’s app and in select Levi’s stores. The collection will range from the price of $150 to $380.
