Kylie Jenner Announces Clothing Line, Khy
On Tuesday, October 24th, reality star and entrepreneur Kylie Jenner announced her upcoming clothing line, named “Khy.” The mogul has had business ventures in cosmetics, skincare, baby products, and a previous clothing line with her older sister, Kendall Jenner. There’s no doubt that Jenner is a businesswoman, as her countless ventures have already allegedly made her one of the youngest self-made billionaires, according to Forbes in 2020.
With the first photo on Jenner’s main Instagram account, she tagged the new Khy account. Kylie is seemingly wearing the coat featured on the new account’s first post, as seen above. Many fans have mixed feelings, either loving her newest flow of income or questioning her ability to create a new fashion brand. Critics on X, previously known as Twitter, believe that she has no previous knowledge of fashion and that this is just another cash grab. Several months ago, Jenner was the face of Acne Studios, a Swedish fashion house. Two Kylies were featured in her campaign, one standing up and the other being dragged by the former, both covered in dirt. The campaign had positive reviews from followers and fashion commentators, who are notoriously hard to please.
Almost all of Jenner’s sisters have ventured into fashion before. Kendall Jenner is a model, Kim Kardashian has Skims, and Khloe Kardashian has Good American. While it doesn’t look like Kylie will be making shape wear or jeans, many anticipate good-quality products. The first item of clothing from Khy is the black leather trench coat, a staple for winter wardrobe. It remains unclear whether the coat’s composition is made of faux leather or not, but her devoted fans will purchase it regardless. In a society where almost every celebrity has a side hustle, it’s not hard to say that this brand won’t be a success. But for now, we’ll stay tuned for Kylie Jenner’s next update for Khy.
