Kate Barton and Bandolier Bring Their NYFW Runway Collaboration to the Public
Kate Barton and Bandolier are taking their New York Fashion Week collaboration from the runway to the streets.
The Los Angeles-based luxury accessories brand and acclaimed fashion designer launched their limited-edition capsule Aug. 4, giving fashion lovers their first chance to shop pieces that debuted during Barton’s Spring/Summer 2026 runway presentation at New York Fashion Week last September.
The collection launched exclusively through BandolierStyle.com and KateBarton.com, transforming Barton’s sculptural approach to fashion into wearable phone cases and accessories designed for everyday use.
Barton built her aesthetic around illusion, altered perception, and sculptural forms, and those ideas carry directly into the collaboration. Bandolier, known for its luxury crossbody phone cases, brings the functionality, while Barton adds the unexpected details that made her runway collection stand out.
The capsule features three signature styles: Goldie, Charlie and Kaia.
Goldie draws inspiration from Barton’s viral Goldfish Bag. The phone case features a dimensional acrylic goldfish that appears suspended inside the clear case, turning a practical accessory into a playful statement piece.
Charlie takes cues from the polished metal bubble studs featured on Barton’s Tessa Mini Bubble Dress. The design translates those sculptural details onto a glossy black patent leather phone case, giving the everyday accessory a sleek, futuristic edge.
Kaia takes one of Barton’s sculptural brooches and transforms it into a removable wallet. The accessory comes in metallic gold and silver finishes, allowing wearers to carry a piece of Barton’s runway-inspired design beyond the phone case.
Together, the pieces blur the line between fashion and function. Barton and Bandolier approached the collaboration with the idea that an everyday essential need not sacrifice style for practicality.
The collection also extends the visual language Barton explored throughout her Spring/Summer 2026 runway presentation, which featured trompe l’oeil elements, dimensional prints and distorted silhouettes. Rather than simply placing runway motifs on accessories, the collaboration adapts those concepts to everyday objects.
“When we first introduced these pieces on Kate’s runway, the response was immediate,” Maggie Drake, Bandolier co-founder, said in a statement. “This collaboration perfectly reflects Bandolier’s belief that everyday essentials can be as thoughtfully designed as the fashion they’re paired with.”
For Barton, the phone case offered another opportunity to challenge how people view familiar objects.
“I’ve always been interested in taking familiar objects and making people look at them differently,” Barton said in a statement. “The phone case felt like a natural extension of the collection because it’s something people carry every day.”
That idea sits at the heart of the capsule. Barton brings the visual surprise, while Bandolier keeps the pieces grounded in its signature hands-free functionality.
The partnership also reflects Bandolier’s broader approach to collaborations, pairing its practical accessories with designers who challenge conventional ideas about fashion and design.
What started as a runway accessory has now become a collectible capsule for everyday wear. With sculptural details, metallic finishes, and a playful nod to Barton’s most recognizable designs, the Kate Barton x Bandolier collection makes a strong case for treating even the most practical accessory as part of the outfit.
