Jolie Noire Sets The Tone For Inclusion & Longevity In Fashion

Two phenomenal sisters Kim and Keyondra Lockett are creating the era for change with their extraordinary luxury brand Jolie Noire.

The two visionaries have been chosen by Target to showcase their work in the retailer’s locations in honor of their 2022 Black History Month celebration.

The luxury brand is here to launch conversations of diversity and inclusion while bringing an affordable yet stylish, comfortable look for men and women.

Behind The Brand?

Kim and Keyondra launched their brand with aspirations to bring solidarity to the Black community. Their line redefines style in a way that is affordable yet unique enough to move fashion-forward.

Before Jolie Noire, the Lockett sisters had a previous brand called Red Glass Sisters. However, they found that this concept wasn’t as solidified as they wanted it.

They knew they could strive harder, with a niche much more captivating. Therefore, the sisters took it upon themselves to relaunch with the outbreak of Jolie Noire.

The iconic duo continues to kill the game with remarkable hustle as they collectively build their fashion empire. They somewhat have different narratives that have molded them into the incredible women they are today.

With Kim’s remarkable fashion background, she currently works as a celebrity stylist for Keys2LuxLifein Atlanta. She’s also done everything from creative directing, wardrobe, make-up, and hair to ensure her clients feel like their best selves.

Kim’s hustle has allowed her to share her journey with a variation of platforms that include BET, BMI Trailblazers Honors show, HypeHair.com, Essence Fest, and much more.

Meanwhile, Keyondra is a Christian singer and songwriter who utilizes her music as a way to transpire unity and advocate for women.

Not only is Keyondra number one on billboards but she has also worked with some of your favorite artists such as Yolanda Adams, Karen Clark-Sheard, Kierra Sheard, Kirk Franklin, and even Mary Mary.

Not to mention Keyondra is the very first gospel singer to work with the African American Brand Kenya® Doll Brand, who specializes in teaching and empowering young girls.

Although their journeys vary, their purpose is complex as they fight to bring awareness to uplift Black women in a stylish yet powerful way.

The Mission

With the goal of empowering Black kings and queens to love who they are, it’s no surprise that the motto behind Jolie Noire means, “pretty black” in French. The sisters make it clear that Black is beautiful, so why not embrace it to the fullest?

The theme for many of the garments is to undo the perception of societal standards. Naturally, there is the embedded idea that we gravitate towards lighter hues over darker ones because they’re more beautiful.

Kim and Keyondra are here to let the world know that every shade is absolutely beautiful as they shift the cultural outlook on the feelings and social definitions associated with blackness.

Why Do They Do It?

With a great niche, dedication, and hard work, the sisters believe anything is possible. Their vision is the future and they’re here to ignite cultural transformations!

“We still have not seen a lot of impacts. You have very few brands that will look plus size. Plus size men and women are wanting fashionable pieces, not wanting something just bright colors. We want great fashion prints” Kim said.

The sisters make it clear that fashion isn’t based on a price tag, but rather on timeless classics that you can cherish now and forever.

With monthly launches and new pieces, the two sisters make it clear that doing your own thing and believing in your purpose is what allows greatness.

It’s no surprise that Black men are raving in the excitement that Black women are finding the courage to strike such uncomfortable conversations in the industry. This continuous initiative is what will allow Jolie Noire to be unforgettable and timeless.
