Genny Dreamscape FW 24/25 Solo Show

Genny Dreamscape FW 24/25 Solo Show

A harmonious connection with beauty and nature, the Italian luxury brand Genny has revealed their Dreamscape 24/25 collection during Milan Fashion Week. Sara Cavazza Facchini, the Artistic Director of Genny, designed this astonishing collection. In addition, the collection takes viewers through a journey of the symbolic play of femininity and nature. It is clear that Facchini celebrates women by creating that balance for these designs.

The Genny Dreamscape Show

One word that would describe this collection: softness. The array of seafoam, blush pink, white, and beige graced the runway. Even the bold burgundy and black looks embraced the theme, especially with its use of prints that resemble sea turtles. American painter Georgia O’Keeffe inspired this collection. O’Keeffe is known for her modernism and precisionism art styles. Also, she is known for creating flower and desert landscapes.

Similarly to Georgia O’Keeffe, Mayumi Yamae’s art embodies the theme of this show: femininity and nature. This artwork, in particular, highlights the curvature of the woman and has the same color scheme of Dreamscape. Watch the full show below!

The Dreamscape Looks

Notice how in each look, they all carry the same seafoam green palette with subtle references to nature! For the first look starting from the left, the highlight of this look is the subtle fringe moment starting from the thigh down. The fringe is slightly sparse but it is paired with a mute version of seafoam green handbag. The capped sleeve, boat neckline jumpsuit brings the eye to the model’s belt very tastefully. For the middle look, a trench coat is always in theme. The deep V-shaped trench coat is paired with a sheer turtleneck and sheer pants. This look is fascinating because traditionally a trench coat is worn during the autumn season. Instead, it is highlighted as a feminine piece that resembles a stem of a flower.

For the last look to the right, the jacket is the moment. Because Sara Cavazza Facchini mentioned sea turtles, the construction of the jacket reflects the vision. It resembles the broadness of the sea turtle’s shell. Also, it is delightful to see a contrast from the motif to a gray because nature is not always the pinks, purples, and blues. Another resemblance I see is that the look can also resemble a rock because of the thickness of the jacket. What if the jacket showcases the strength of nature? Overall, these three looks give a great overview of what the collection is portraying.

Now, let’s look into the evening ear portion of the collection! Starting from the left, the champagne sequin jumpsuit paired with a trench-coat like jacket is a modern twist on evening wear. The jacket is the highlight of this piece because of the oversize nature of it. The puffy sleeves can remind viewers of flower petals or perhaps the fullness/brightness of the sun. The sequin brings a reflective factor to the jumpsuit, perhaps it is to resemble life: life is a shining disco ball, just have fun!

For the middle look, the look gives off the rose from 1991 Beauty and the Beast film. The deep crimson red fabric highlights the mode beautifully while paying tribute to the zinnas, cardinals, amaryllises, and tulips! For the last look, it is very unique because when black is sometimes ignored when it comes to describing natural colors. On the other hand, Genny represented black exquisitely to showcase the mysterious beauty behind the pastels. Yes, black is considered negative space but in this collection, it pops as a distinctive contrast with the theme.

Concluding Overview of Genny Dreamscape

The delicate chiffon and organza tops and light blouses blend with tailored Cocoon coats with broad sleeves to create a stunning look, wrapping the figure in a seductive, protective, and loving embrace. With woven wools, knits provide a “fur effect” that mimics the actual thing. The evening gowns’ tiny sequins and the glistening needlework contrast with the crystals and studs. The jackets have a droop to draw attention to the waist, and the pants are loose, nude jersey knits. Dreamlike silhouettes are defined by the dazzling sandals, Mary Jane necklines, and stocking boots. For evening wear, puffy takes on the classic Fortune bag and jewel-themed bags with rhinestone motifs.
