FINE CHAOS FW25: Hope in Chaos
FINE CHAOS, the avant-garde fashion house renowned for its compelling storytelling, has unveiled its Fall/Winter 2025 collection, ATARAXIS. Drawing inspiration from ancient Greek philosophy, where ‘Ataraxis’ signifies ‘peace of mind,’ the collection explores the human spirit’s ability to find calm and hope amidst chaos. Set against a world grappling with war, political instability, and environmental collapse, ATARAXIS is a poignant reflection of resilience in the face of despair.
The collection’s silhouettes are a study in contrasts, oscillating between the comforting embrace of hope and the suffocating weight of responsibility. The color palette mirrors this duality, blending washed-out, steampunk-inspired tones with vibrant, almost sarcastic hues. Rich textures such as canvas, satin, and stiff PVC further emphasize the tension between fragility and strength, chaos and serenity.
Sustainability remains a cornerstone of FINE CHAOS’s ethos. The ATARAXIS collection features low-water dyes, upcycled fabrics, and minimal overproduction, underscoring the brand’s commitment to responsible design.
The runway show, held during Copenhagen Fashion Week, was FINE CHAOS’s most ambitious production to date. Designed as an immersive experience, the event centered around Danish music group Kind mod Kind. It featured 20 actors clad in bandages, portraying societal outcasts—a recurring theme in the brand’s narrative. The collection’s central motif, a butterfly’s journey through hell, was brought to life through powerful music and theatrical staging, symbolizing the fragile beauty that can emerge from the darkest corners.
In line with its mission to democratize fashion, FINE CHAOS allocated more than half of the runway tickets to its community, the FINE CHAOS “society,” ensuring that the event was accessible to a broader audience.
With ATARAXIS, FINE CHAOS continues to challenge the fashion industry to engage in meaningful dialogue. The collection is both a mirror of our turbulent times and a beacon of hope, reminding us of the enduring power of the human spirit to find peace amidst chaos.
