Fashion Designers of Latin America (FDLA) is set to return to New York Fashion Week (NYFW) this September, celebrating its 15th anniversary with a series of spectacular events. Kicking off the Spring/Summer 2025 season, FDLA will host its opening night at the historic United Palace in Northern Manhattan’s District 10 on September 9th. This milestone event will feature a special tribute to world-renowned Spanish designer Agatha Ruiz de la Prada and showcase the finest Latin American fashion talent.FDLA’s opening night will begin with an exclusive press conference, followed by a tribute ceremony honoring Agatha Ruiz de la Prada, whose vibrant and joyful designs have made her a beloved figure in the fashion world. The evening will culminate in a runway show featuring her latest collection, offering attendees a unique glimpse into her creative genius. Also featured will be a fashion installation by Colombian designer Pedro Juan Ramirez, and a grand finale runway show by Dominican Republic’s celebrated designer Giannina Azar. On September 11th, FDLA will present its official collective fashion show at Lavan 641 NYC, a luxurious venue located in the heart of Midtown Manhattan. This event will spotlight emerging designers and rising stars in the fashion industry, in keeping with FDLA’s commitment to nurturing new talent. The showcase will introduce innovative, sustainable fashion collections, reflecting the organization’s dedication to environmentally conscious practices. Among the standout collections for the Spring/Summer 2025 season is: Giannina Azar: With her “Rinascimiento” collection, Azar takes us on a journey to the opulent world of Renaissance balls, featuring hand-embroidered artisan pieces and hand-painted canvases inspired by the Belle Époque. Angie Polanco & Albania Rosario: Their “Tropical Metropolis 1613” collection draws inspiration from the contrasts and synergy of the Dominican diaspora, featuring modern prints created with organic materials and produced using zero-waste technology. – **Idol José**: Presenting “My Uncle Carlos,” this collection is a textile manifesto dedicated to sustainability and cultural heritage, utilizing ancestral techniques and recycled materials to create luxurious yet eco-friendly designs. Eugenia Lemos: “Hedonica” celebrates vibrant colors and positive messages with unique prints, offering a sensory experience that reimagines traditional icons through digital textile sublimation techniques.

FDLA’s 15th-anniversary celebration highlights the organization’s history and marks the beginning of a new era in Latin American fashion. Under the direction of Albania Rosario, FDLA has become a global platform for Latin American designers, showcasing unique, artisanal techniques and providing opportunities for emerging talents to shine on the world stage. Rosario, the founder and CEO of FDLA, expressed her excitement about returning to the United Palace, where FDLA began its journey 15 years ago. “I am enormously grateful for the continued support of the Council of the City of New York and the Hispanic Federation.
