David Koma S/S 2025 Collection
Soaring gracefully through the sky, birds have long symbolized the ideals of freedom and liberation, reflecting our human desire to transcend limitations. For his Spring-Summer 2025 collection, David Koma draws inspiration from the avian world, channeling its ethereal essence to explore new heights of expression. The collection celebrates sensuality through the unmistakable Koma lens, seamlessly blending undeniable seduction and playful provocation with a touch of charming innocence.
The designer’s journey into avifauna was sparked by the work of Leila Jeffreys, the acclaimed Australian artist celebrated for her captivating portraits of birds. Jeffreys’ use of minimalist backdrops highlights the vivid plumage and intricate details of her subjects, creating a visual narrative that transcends traditional wildlife photography.
Spring-Summer 2025 pays tribute to the poetic symbolism of its two central avian inspirations: hummingbirds and swallows. Hummingbirds infuse the range with a sense of joy, capturing their boundless energy and graceful, agile flight. Meanwhile, swallows, renowned for their enduring pair bonds, introduce themes of love and romanticism. Both inform a collection that celebrates the deeply feminine – light, delicate, and utterly pleasing to the Koma Woman.
Alongside the designer’s signature graphic black, a pastel sorbet palette— sugary lemon, delicate blueberry, ripening strawberry, and blushing peach—takes center stage. Exquisite lace and soft silk mesh form dramatic yet romantic gowns. Jersey sweatsuit sets focus on comfort while the luxuriously feathered sleeveless hoodies offer a touch of opulence. The playful softness is further highlighted through the addition of lace veils and tulle ruffle bustles.
Crystallized hummingbirds flutter throughout the collection, landing on hips and necklines of transparent sequin minis, while the tiny hand-embroidered swallows suspend liquid jersey across the decolletage. Bold metal chain elements are softened with flowers crafted from individual petal-like feathers, appearing as trims and earrings. Knitwear emerges as shimmering crystal encrusted dresses and twinsets, embroidered with elongated glass sequins and metallic bugles.
Inspired by the brand’s iconic padded biker jacket, David Koma launches a new handbag style, The Racer, crafted from matte calf leather or textured pony skin, available in three sizes. David Koma also introduces a special collaboration with DAB Motors, an innovative French electric motorcycle brand uniting luxury design, technology, and sustainability, which features three exclusive motorbike colourways. The limited-edition bikes are available for pre-order now on dabmotors.com.
