BORSALINO unveils WOMEN’S FW22/23 for MFW & previews HAT YOUR DIVERSITY III

Borsalino presents Fall-Winter 2022/23 this Milan Women’s Fashion Week in honor of iconic heritage with a collection greatly inspired by the artistic periods of pre-World War up through the savvy Seventies.  This latest romantic vision of the Maison’s Creative Curator Giacomo Santucci reflects on the Informal Movement and creativity’s renewed function, first promoted by artists like Alberto Burri, Lucio Fontana and Jannis Kounellis who authored new channels of communication in art to forge innovative styles.

Fruit of detailed research, historic quotes and tributes, each piece was created to encourage individuals to celebrate personal expression freely, without the constraints of a category or label. In a winter palette of blue, rust and green, the Borsalino Fall-Winter 2022/23 collection interprets elements from Arts and CraftsModern Contemporary and Street Style in an array of featured shapes, details and designs.

Arts and Crafts. Inspired by the experiential Informal Movement, this selection starts with each unique design as if it was a rough, unmapped canvas. Delving into the Seventies archive, models feature exceeded Borsalino artisan mastery with elements of découpage, a maltinto effectsaddle-stitching and spazialisti holes

Contemporary. Unedited grosgrain ribbons, patches and jeweled shoulder straps embellish iconic Borsalino archival shapes. Protagonists include: a longhaired brushed felt animalier Tiger motif (slated to be this season’s best seller); a graphic Tiara in a never seen before bamboo version; and the novelty striped wool felt style with Borsalino logo lettering.

Street. Innovative fabrics reflect and enhance the collection’s thematic essentials starring an all-over Borsalino crest available in two versions that decor iconic baseball and bucket hat models; and a selection of street-style favorite knitted beanies in eco-cashmere and virgin wool.

Also in celebration, Borsalino unveils the third video edition of Hat Your Diversity on its digital platforms in homage to female beauty and artistic expression. Shot on the inspiring streets of Rome, the reel features 13 women from the worlds of art, business, content creation, culinary arts, culture, fashion and film, who freely express personal artistic style through their selected FW22/23 hat.

Featured protagonists include: Micaela Berretti (President Bewarenow & International/External-Relations Expert), Flaviana Boni (Influencer), Mariapaola D’Urzo (Stylist & Content Creator), Ornella De Felice (Chef), Erica Firpo (Ciaobella.co Founder & Lifestyle Journalist), Polissena Galdo (Po.Co.
