
Bape® & The OG Host Basel Brunch In Honor Of Artist Jose Parla
On Thursday, December 5th, Japanese streetwear fashion brand BAPE® and The Online Gallery, known as THE OG, hosted a brunch at The Standard Spa in honor of THE OG Edition 13 cover artist José Parlá. The event brought together a community of artists and creatives during Art Basel Miami to celebrate THE OG Edition 13 launch.
A BATHING APE® exists to challenge expectations, champion outliers, and elevate expression. The Japanese streetwear brand has been inextricably linked to art for over 30 years, and in 2024 the brand is celebrating creativity during art’s biggest week – Art Basel Miami. This connection to art, music and fashion inspired BAPE®’s partnership with The Online Gallery, known as THE OG. THE OG and A BATHING APE® are united by a shared passion for supporting creativity in all its forms. This partnership brings together the worlds of art and style, culminating in an elevated publication and shared experiences for the community. Together, the two brands have celebrated creativity at key moments in the art calendar in Los Angeles, New York and Atlanta.
As part of the global launch of BAPE® SHARK STA, BAPE® is hosting a pop-up in Atlanta, Georgia to showcase the new silhouette in a bespoke retail environment. This latest location brings BAPE® to a city renowned for its contributions to culture, music and art.
In celebration of the creativity of the city and the SHARK STA, BAPE®‘s pop-up experience will be extended through a variety of touchpoints in October, including a mural by Atlanta-based artist Dr. Fahamu Pecou near the store and a collaboration with The Online Gallery on their Edition 12 featuring Atlanta artists.
The BAPE® Atlanta Pop-Up will open to the public starting October 5th located in Buckhead Village at 3065 Peachtree Rd NE, Suite B212.
In addition to the Atlanta Pop-Up, BAPE® is launching activities around the world – including pop-ups in Beijing, Shanghai, Tokyo and Milan, starting in October. Each global pop-up location will feature unique retail elements and artwork.
This December, the BAPE® and THE OG partnership continues, for the release of THE OG Edition 13 at Art Basel Miami 2024. Each edition of THE OG showcases diverse artists, curators, and cultural innovators, amplifying their voices while challenging traditional boundaries of accessibility and exclusivity. THE OG Edition 13 spotlights several artists including award-winning cover artist José Parlá.
