Babyphat’s New Launch with Forever21

On June 12th, 2019 Kimora Lee Simons announced to instagram her collaboration with Forever21, with her first teaser video with her family,  Ming Lee Simmons and Aoki Lee Simmons, Jessie and D’Lila Combs. The website features a numerous amount of looks on the Forever21 website that include: Biker Shorts, Graphic Tees, Bodysuits, Tube tops, mini skirts, kimonos, platform sneakers and distressed jeans, Along with a variety of accessories such as Tinted sunglasses, Faux Patent Leather Belt, Heart Hoop Earrings, Rhinestone Choker, Rhinestone Hair Clips and sheer mesh fanny pack. 

 

 

This brand offers affordable clothing from 3.90- 35.00$ and good range in sizes from small- 3x. VP of Merchandising for Forever21 Linda Chang stated in People Magazine “Baby Phat is always front and center when you think of iconic streetwear brands,“We are so thrilled to be a part of a relaunch for a brand that carved the way for women in streetwear and fashion. It has been an honor to work with Kimora Lee Simmons and her daughters, Ming Lee & Aoki Lee, on this project, and we can’t wait to help customers rediscover a legendary brand.”

                              

 

From the late 90s to the early 2000 Babyphat has had a tremendous impact on the HipHop community from trend setters such as Aaliyah, lil Kim,Rihanna and Paris Hilton and more. The brand offered streetwear from puffers, hoodies, and jeans emblazoned with that iconic cat logo to embed its own 90s nostalgia. This is only the beginning for Babyphat. Kimora Lee Simons was more than just a supermodel and Russel-Simmons past wife, she was a strong and fiercely independent business woman that cared about women’s economic status through building her memorable empire.

Babyphat is also pursuing opening doors to models as well. Six days ago babyphat posted on Instagram a picture of  a model wearing pieces from Kimora Lee’s fall 2002 collection captioning “Tag a baddie that should model for us.” There are currently 12,716 comments and counting.
