AUSTIN BASED EYEWEAR BRAND VADA LAUNCHES NEW SUNGLASS STYLE AS A DIGITAL COLLECTIBLE WITH JOGGY

Founded in 2013 by creative director Katie Caplener, VADA is a line of fine jewelry, antique heirlooms and eyewear that is sold in select retailers around the world. Katie’s work draws from a deep well of ranging references, from ancient art to modern dance, neoclassicism to New Wave, and the obscurest of corners that exist in between. VADA is made from the finest materials and is always responsibly sourced. Its Austin-based studio employs an all-female production team.

In 2020, Caplener expanded her offerings introducing VADA EYES — representing the next chapter in the brand’s story.  Each VADA eyewear style is constructed from the finest Japanese acetate and titanium with signature gilded accents and grommets designed to connect VADA’s eyewear fine jewelry chains. Each pair of eyewear ships in an upcycled microfiber bag and a custom cactus-leather case, made in the USA. All eyewear styles are available in RX and sun lenses in a range of lens hues.

Launching today VADA has teamed up with Ty Haney’s brand Joggy to create a limited edition eyewear capsule collection for sport.

The sunglasses are being sold via a digital collectible on https://tyb.xyz. Each collectible reserves one pair of Joy Ride Sport Sunglasses (retailing for $200-250) at launch + unlocks access to the TYB platform, where the community will vote on the fifth style + color for the collection, as well as the city of the launch party in a few months.

“When we started talking about this collection, the one thing that was important to the both of us was capturing that exuberant, energizing spirit that is just inherently Joggy. We’ve got some funky colors; it’s fun and vibrant, and not really what you’d expect out of performance eyewear.” – Ty Haney, Joggy
