2024 People’s Choice Awards
On Sunday, February 18th, the Barker Hangar in Santa Monica, California, played host to the 2024 People’s Choice Awards, where celebrities gathered to honor this year’s outstanding achievements in music, television, and film. Distinguished by its unique approach, the People’s Choice Awards empowers fans to directly influence the winners in each category, as the viewers vote for the winners, earning its aptly fitting title as “The People’s Choice Awards.” With a lineup of 45 categories, notable movies, TV shows, and artists claimed significant honors that evening. Barbie clinched the prestigious “Movie of the Year” award and also secured “Comedy Movie of the Year”; Margot Robbie earned the title of “Female Movie Star of the Year,” while Ryan Gosling was honored as “Male Movie Star of the Year,” and America Ferrera received “Movie Performance of the Year.” The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes triumphed as the “Action Movie of the Year,” and Rachel Zegler was recognized as “Action Movie Star of the Year” for her portrayal of Lucy Gray Baird. In the television realm, Grey’s Anatomy claimed “Show of the Year,” Only Murderers in the Building snagged “Comedy Show of the Year,” The Last of Us was crowned “Drama Show of the Year,” and Loki emerged victorious as “Sci-Fi/Fantasy Show of the Year.” Wrapping up the awards, Jung Kook earned “Male Artist of the Year,” Taylor Swift was celebrated as “Female Artist of the Year”, and Ice Spice was awarded “The New Artist of the Year” in the music categories.
