Tony Pharo Challenges Normal Perception Through Painting
Los Angeles-based Multidisciplinary Artist, Tony Pharo has made a mark in the art world. Conveyed with a raw and transparent spirit, his work celebrates both emotion and conviction. With a visceral color palette and a disarmingly playful tone, Pharo tears down barriers to the soul. Tony Pharo was born in 1988, making his voice both raw and new. Not only that but he has been using his creative voice for only six months. Pharo manages to bring new joy and experience to this world with each passing day.
Tony Pharo and His Art
Through his work, Pharo aims to make viewers pause, to challenge how things are presented or how people perceive things should be presented. For example, instead of painting a second ear, the artist will write out the word ‘ear’ where the physical appendage would be. Also, the same goes for the neck, brain, and other body parts.
The goal is to challenge our basic thinking and our ideals of how people are supposed to look. As someone who is actively practicing not judging or labeling things, people, places, etc. in his mind, for the artist, this expresses that. Pharo’s artwork is one of a kind and forces viewers to think deeper. Furthermore, below are some samples of his work.
