ZEP Wants To See What You’re “Tryna Do”

Dutch artist and producer ZEP has officially released his latest single, “TRYNA DO, out now via PULSE Records, alongside an accompanying music video . The new release comes on the heels of a breakout run, beginning with “NOBODY,” his self-acceptance anthem that has amassed over 7.8M streams and debuted live during his sold-out NYC rave and 66GREENE performance, followed by the explosive “DON’T BREAK, which gained traction online—particularly within the breakdancing community—and his Apple Creator Studio global campaign feature. Most recently, “FIGURE IT OUT” expanded his sonic range, underscoring his genre-blurring approach and growing momentum.

“TRYNA DO” opens around a solitary electric bass line, gradually pulling the listener in before a steady, punchy drum groove sets the track in motion. As layers of distortion begin to creep in, ZEP’s vocals enter buried and distant before snapping into focus, cutting through the raw soundscape. The arrangement continues to expand as hazy synth textures and horn-like tones swell behind the hook, while his shapeshifting vocal delivery blurs the line between singular and layered voices. Anchored by an engine-like low end and escalating intensity, the track builds into something both immersive and chaotic—balancing a relentless pulse with the high-impact, textural elements that define ZEP’s sound.

“This song is about closing off distractions, not giving in to a world that is filled with temptations, and the loneliness that comes with that. I’m also showing a different style of production that’s a bit broader and less aggressive, but still has my signature on it,” says ZEP.

ZEP has also announced the NO ENEMIES North America + EU headline tour, kicking off May 20 in London with stops in AmsterdamWarsaw, and Berlin before returning to North America for dates in TorontoNew York, Chicago, and more. The run wraps with a sold-out two-night stand in Los Angeles on June 18 & 20 — tickets HERE

Dutch artist and producer ZEP is breaking rules, bending genres, and paving his own lane in modern music. The son of Bazz Barnasconi, frontman of Dutch alternative rock band Vankatoen, ZEP grew up surrounded by live music and developed an early passion for drums before studying at the Conservatory of Amsterdam. Rooted in the skate, fashion, hip-hop, and electronic communities, his work channels an authentic, boundary-pushing energy that thrives both in his recordings and immersive 360-audio live shows. Keeping the rebellious spirit of rock, hip-hop, and punk alive, ZEP continues to emerge as a true artist’s artist with a sound entirely his own.
