Zacari Releases Debut Album & Short Film ‘Bliss’

TDE’s boundary-pushing artist, Zacari, unveils his highly-anticipated debut album and accompanying short film, Bliss, via Top Dawg Entertainment (TDE). This dual release introduces Zacari’s artistic depth and positions him at the forefront of a new wave of genre-experimentalists pulling from house, electronic, R&B, hip-hop, hyper-pop and more. Bliss delivers an immersive sonic journey across 17 tracks, featuring collaborations with luminaries such as James FauntleroyTy Dolla $ignAb-SoulDoechii, and more. From the soulful introspection of “Faith + Sight” ft. BEAM, a Skrillex-produced track blending house influences with Zacari’s mellow and moody R&B flair, to the haunting melodies of “Lonewolf Still,” Zacari explores themes of love, loss, and personal evolution with a keen sense of lyrical prowess.

I see myself as a wanderer,” Zacari reflects. “My music delves into the complexities of human emotion—love, hate, and the blurred lines in between. It’s about posing questions that resonate deeply, even if the answers remain elusive.”

Accompanying the album, Bliss, the short film unravels an 8-minute visual odyssey through surreal landscapes—a hedonistic party, a shadowy strip club, and the barren expanse of a desert. These cinematic vignettes mirror Zacari’s lyrical narrative, exploring inner conflicts and the relentless pursuit of inner peace. Throughout the film, a voice echoes with the words, “Don’t be afraid of your demons, HERE You just gotta know if it’s you dancing with them or if it’s them dancing with you, you know?” This poignant reflection encapsulates the film’s journey of introspection and reconciliation, reflecting Zacari’s exploration of identity and the search for a place to call home.

Having initially gained widespread recognition through his contributions to Kendrick Lamar‘s DAMN. and breakout singles like “Don’t Trip” and “Young & Invincible,” 2024 is shaping up to be another monumental year for Zacari. This summer, he will join SiR on the highly anticipated Life is Good tour, kicking off on July 23rd in Silver Spring, MD, at The Fillmore Silver Spring. The tour will take them across major cities, offering fans a chance to experience Zacari’s powerful live performances.
