Your Old Droog Has The “Pavlovian Effect”
Ukraine-born, Brooklyn-raised rapper Your Old Droog returns with “Pavlovian Effect,” enlisting South African star A-Reece and legendary NYC MC Masta Ace, with instrumentation from DJ Harrison. The MCs trace the conditioned response of social media into the real world, how it affects the integrity of hip-hop and humanity.
“Pavlovian Effect” caps a prolific run and marks the start of another. Droog’s 2024 album Movie brought in Method Man, Denzel Curry and Yasiin Bey, and he followed it with two 2025 EPs, Anything Is Possible and Yod Serling. In January he made his network TV debut on Fallon as one half of Droogie Otis, his duo with Madlib, performing the unreleased “Gumby” alongside “The Edge,” their collaboration with Killer Mike. Droogie Otis have also shared “Everything Designer” with Boldy James and “REEKYOD” with Black Thought ahead of an upcoming full-length. In June he appeared on Wiki’s Ancient History.
