Will Swinton Drops Emotional Single “Fall Apart”

Picking up steam in the midst of a breakout year, Auckland singer-songwriter Will Swinton uncovers a tender and touching new single “Fall Apart” out now.

Pairing sparse instrumentation with spirited vocals, a gently-picked clean guitar arpeggio sets the tone for the track. He lightly plucks the strings as his vocals exhale raw emotion. Heartfelt verses give way to a hummable hook punctuated by a promise, “I’d never let you fall apart, or leave you with an ugly scar.” Holding nothing back, he goes on to plead, “For all of my days, pray that I stay with you.

Fall Apart” arrives on the heels of “Can’t Let Go.” The latter includes a music video—which Will personally directed. It reached #7 on the Hot 20 New Zealand Singles Chart. Plus, the song incited critical applause from the likes of SWEETY HIGH who praised, “The track embodies Will‘s signature sense of vulnerable songwriting, with a rousing, folksy sound as Will sings about the turmoil caused by a long-distance relationship.”

Next up, Will hits the road as direct support on BabyJake’s anticipated “Beautiful Blue Collar Boy” Tour. Scheduled for 25 dates across the US, this run kicks off on October 15 in Carrboro, NC, followed by performances in Washington, DCNew York, NYBoston, MA, and Philadelphia, PA. The jaunt concludes in Nashville, TN on November 16. See the full tour routing below. Purchase tickets HERE.

Remaining prolific, “Can’t Let Go” followed Letting Me Down. Beyond piling up hundreds of thousands of streams, it earned critical acclaim. The Honey Pop raved, “his voice alone makes us feel better. It’s raw and emotional, and we can’t help but feel as if we’re going through the situation right alongside him,” and UPROXX hailed it among “All The Best New Pop Music From This Week, going on to praise, Will Swinton’s crackly yet smooth vocal tone is immediately striking.” Prior, he made waves with Harmless. Mundane Magazine applauded his “powerful stadium ready voice,” and Happy Mag assured, “With ‘Harmless,’ NZ artist Will Swinton cements his place among music’s upper echelons.” “Harmless” also picked up the momentum from Daydream. The latter has not only clocked over a millions of streams, but it has also earned acclaim reaching #5 on the Hot 20 New Zealand Singles Chart. Beyond a plug from Rolling StoneSweety High proclaimed “He beautifully captures the angst of unrequited feelings.” While The Honey Pop stated, “We’re in love and completely obsessed with the Auckland singer-songwriter.”

Will Swinton released his debut EP Better Days in October 2023. The EP capped a flurry of momentum for the fresh face. In 2022, his independent single “All For You” cracked the Top 10 of the Hot 20 New Zealand Singles Chart, while “Better Days,” “Wasted You” and “Leave In The Morning” landed in the Top 15.  Check out our previous coverage on Will Swinton here.
