Whiterosemoxie “Call Me When You Hear This”
With an omnivorous taste in music and the talent to execute his every idea, whiterosemoxie can’t be put into a box. Turning a lovelorn voicemail into a heartfelt ballad, moxie shares “Call Me When You Hear This,“ his new video single. Working a fastpaced, yet conversational flow over rippling acoustic guitars and snapping snares, moxie does his part to try to save a crumbling relationship, pouring his heart out in a confessional series of verses. The song puts a spotlight on moxie’s expressive singing–both in his plainspoken lead and more showy backing vocals–which hammers home the longing expressed in his lyrics: “It’s been too long,” he croons, “I miss you.”
Directed by Parker Lee of Enigmatic Entertainment, the video starts with moxie laying on the pavement after receiving terrible news. Awoken by an unexpected phone call, moxie explores his surroundings before he finds a mirror that transports him to his home city. The 20-year-old artist spends the rest of his video waiting by his phone, spending time with his dog, a good friend, and his vintage muscle car. “Call Me When You Hear This” follows in the wake of the colorful “flavors” as the latest video from HUMAN BEHAVIOR, moxie’s upcoming EP, due this spring.
Recorded in Detroit by moxie and a coterie of local collaborators, HUMAN BEHAVIOR EP is a deeply personal effort that touches on themes of love, loss, excess, addiction, violence, ego, exuberance, desperation, and joy. More than a musical diary that tracks the varied experiences of a 20 year-old navigating life as an artist in Detroit, HUMAN BEHAVIOR is a focused examination of how difficult it can be to determine whether or not we are in control of or actually controlled by the forces in our lives. Home to recent singles like the unapologetic “wayside” and the striking “whts rght,” HUMAN BEHAVIOR arrives later this year via 300 Entertainment.
The latest product of his boundless creativity, whiterosemoxie hopes HUMAN BEHAVIOR is a successful marriage of the artist’s strong songwriting and conceptual thinking. Stay tuned for more updates about the EP.
