Dutch EDM DJ Tiesto is returning to the EDM scene with a new single with Rudimental and Absolutely!

What Is “Waterslides”?
The single, “Waterslides”, captures the strength of vulnerability. But, in a positive, outgoing outlook on life. Firstly, it starts off with Absolutely’s vocals with an echo and reverb. Then, it gradually building up to the drums and basses at the beginning of the verses. For example, the constituency of the upbeat beats feels like you are at a music festival in the summer.

Waterslides follows a simple format by capturing the emotional turmoil of relationships in the lyrics.

This part of the verse highlights a common problem in long-distance relationships. In this verse, the music takes a small pause as Absolutely sings this part.

In the song, Absolutely increases her volume to match the booming beats of the drums for the chorus. Finally, the bridge compliments her vocals with low basses and a quick buildup of hi-hats to finish the song on a high note.
Tiësto, Rudimental, and Absolutely Unite
Tiesto has two-decade career in the EDM community. For example, he is dubbed the “Godfather of EDM” by NME Magazine, EDM.com, and MTV. Specifically, his most famous songs include “Wasted” featuring Matthew Koma, “Red Lights,” . Also, he created a song called “The Right Song” with Oliver Heldens featuring Natalie La Rose. Before, Tiesto’s previous style consisted of trance music. Trance music is a popular subcategory of electronic music that emerged in the 1990s in Europe.
Since March 2023, he has experimented with drums and basses (DnB) during his set at the Ultra Music Festival set in Miami. “What keeps me going is that I can always change and surprise myself. I always find a new angle to keep it interesting for myself,” said Tiesto, according to Spin.com.
Currently, drums and basses is a popular electronic music style returning to the community. So, Tiesto has joined forces with Rudimental, a British DnB band. The band is famous for their electrifying 2012 song, “Feel the Love.” It hit number one on the UK singles chart. In 2021, they released “Ground Control,” their fourth album in their category. And, the song reached number one on the UK Dance Albums charts.
Lastly, Absolutely is a rising pop artist that released her debut album, “Cerebrum”, in November 2023. Her album consist of songs such as “MIA”, “24 Hours”, and “Close to You”. According to Chicago Go Pride, she said,”It is hard to express myself through talking sometimes, but as soon as I jump on the mic the feelings just flow out.”
