Travis Scott Debuts New Single at Rolling Loud Miami

This weekend’s annual Rolling Loud Miami festival saw over a hundred rap stars from around the country. Tens of thousands of fans gathered for one of the first major festivals since the COVID-19 pandemic. The event lasted three days and kicked off on Friday at a sold-out Hard Rock Stadium.

On the second night, Travis Scott took to the Ciroc Stage for an hour-long set that began with him suspended in mid-air. And, he dropped a new single while he was at it.

Scott got the crowd of more than 80,000 riled up. “This shit right here is for the ragers and for the ragers only,” he said during the performance.

He performed crowd favorites “Highest in the Room” (2019) and “No Bystanders” (2018). He brought musical guest Migos on the stage to perform their new hit “Straightenin” (2021).

He debuted the single “Escape Plan” from his forthcoming album Utopia on Saturday night. During the performance, a group of drones assembled overhead to create a QR code with a pre-save link for the single.

Utopia will be Scott’s fourth album, and the follow-up to his acclaimed 2018 album Astroworld.

He teased the release earlier in the day on social media. ”SOMEONE ASK ME HOW IM [sic] STARTING TONIGHT OFF,” he captioned an Instagram post. “IMA MAKING A ESCAPE. WHOS READYYY. I WANT THE RAGE TONIGHT.”

Scott referenced his dedication to dropping new music, telling fans, “I can’t wait to come back and perform new music for you guys,” he said. “I can’t wait to bring the new rage for you guys. I can’t wait to introduce you to a new formula. I f—ing love y’all so much.”

The rapper also served old hits, including “90210,” (2015) “Way Back,” (2016) and “Butterfly Effect” (2017). He brought his electric energy to the stage, zipping and flying around in a neon green sweatshirt.
