Tierra Whack Releases Cinematic Video For “Candle Wax”
GRAMMY-nominated recording artist and auteur Tierra Whack continues expanding the world of WHACK’S MUSEUM with the release of her new visual for “CANDLE WAX,” directed by Child. The haunting new video adds another striking chapter to the mixtape’s cinematic universe, further showcasing Whack’s singular approach to visual storytelling.
The visual opens with Tierra resting her head on a series of candles before cutting to scenes at a dinner table and what appears to be a funeral repast, where she stands beside a child eating. Like much of WHACK’S MUSEUM, the video embraces ambiguity, allowing its imagery to speak louder than straightforward narrative.
The release follows Whack’s recent visual for “WHACK JOB,” which found her portraying a garbage collector hauling away what appear to be bodies wrapped inside trash bags, further cementing the uncompromising visual language surrounding WHACK’S MUSEUM. Together, the two videos continue to demonstrate why Tierra remains one of music’s most fearless creative voices.
The latest visual arrives during a busy stretch for the Philadelphia artist. This Saturday, Tierra is set to perform at Complex Family Style in New York City. Last weekend, she joined fellow Philadelphia icon Jill Scott for a performance of “Norf Side” during Philadelphia’s One Philly: Unity Concert for America, celebrating the city’s role in America’s 250th anniversary festivities.
Tierra also appeared alongside Tems during the 2026 BET Awards as part of the star-studded tribute honoring Ms. Lauryn Hill, where the pair performed the Fugees classic “Fu-Gee-La” in celebration of Hill receiving the inaugural Living Legend Icon Award.
Released in June, WHACK’S MUSEUM marked what Tierra described as her “first true rap project,” showcasing her lyrical dexterity across 12 tightly constructed songs without a single guest feature.
The critically acclaimed mixtape further established her place among Philadelphia’s most innovative artists while continuing the momentum built by her celebrated debut album, WORLD WIDE WHACK.
With every new visual, Tierra Whack continues proving that WHACK’S MUSEUM isn’t simply a collection of songs; it’s an immersive artistic world where every frame carries meaning.
