The Quincy Jones Legacy
Iconic producer of Motown records, Quincy Jones, has passed away at the age of 91. He died in his Bel Air home Sunday night, no cause has been specified.
The legendary storytelling of Quincy Jones reigned mighty in music for seven decades. And will continue to live on for decades after he’s gone. Jones is known best for producing Micheal Jackson’s 1983 album Thriller, one of the most famous albums of all time. However, the Quincy Jones legacy is more than just working with Michael Jackson. He worked with many of the most iconic pop stars in history. Miles Davis, Ray Charles, Frank Sinatra, Aretha Franklin, and so many more. And not only did he work on music with great Hollywood stars, but he also made his own influential music. Though Jones had great success through his talents, he remained a humble man.
Celebrities React To The Passing Of Quincy Jones
Jones has inspired so many modern-day icons as well. Abel Tesfaye, better known as ‘The Weekend’ wrote a post on X thanking his idol for his influence.
“My fans know how important Quincy was to the fabric of my music. I was given the opportunity to write a foreword to his book and tried to capture what he meant to me as a human. Let’s celebrate his life today.”
Another celebrity grieving Jone’s death is a modern producing legend, Pharrell Wiliams. On X Williams posted,

Even though Jones has left this world physically, the work he created in music will live on, keeping his memory alive. Still ready to inspire others, just as he did when he was physically present. Jones’s art spoke for itself and left a mark on this world that will transcend his physical self. Besides Jones’s major musical impact he leaves behind, Jones leaves behind his children, family, and friends. Although we grieve his absence, we celebrate all that Quincy Jones brought to the music world and beyond.
