Today, Brooklyn female rap duo The Girll Codee release their debut EP
The seven-track tape features Sway from Sway’s Universe, Shade 45 who narrates the project’s intro, HoodCelebrityy, who is featured on the EP’s drill anthem of a lead single, “Chaa Chaa Chaa”, and production by notable New York producer Ron Browz (Nas, “Ether”; “Pop Champagne”) on “Regular Shit”. Each track continuously places the duo’s slick flow and creative wordplay front and center. “Inside” is an empowering and vulnerable track about insecurities and self-love, proclaiming “Don’t compare nobody / ‘cause they ain’t you.”
According to The Girll Codee, “We titled the album ‘SHAABIGGAA x HiiiSIDDITY’ because we want the world to know exactly who THEGIRLLCODEE is and what makes us the duo everyone fell in love with and also to show them, just like you can’t forget the 2 L’s or ever forget the 2 E’s, you can’t forget the 2 A’s in ShaaBiggaa or the 3 i’s in HiiiSiddity! After listening to this EP, we want our fans to walk away being able to relate to us and see who “ShaaBiggaa x HiiiSiddity” are besides “the girls on the stoop” . We want the CO’DEEZ to know we LOVE OUR CULTURE AND WHERE WE FROM! And represent that to the fullest the GC way !!”
