The Dare debuts his first ever official remix today, a reimagining of Lol Tolhurst x Budgie x Jacknife Lee’s “Los Angeles” featuring James Murphy

“Los Angeles” is the title track of the alt-supergroup’s forthcoming LP.“Joan Didion said ‘the city burning is Los Angeles’ deepest image of itself,’ says The Dare. “It’s a total honor for Budgie, Jacknife, Lol and James to let me set their work on fire.”The new remix is The Dare’s first release since his much lauded The Sex EP, out earlier this year on Republic Records. In the months since, he’s made sold out headline debuts in NewYork and LosAngeles, played highlight sets at Portolaand FWBFest and continued to throw his beloved weekly party Freakquencies. This month he’ll play a number of shows opening for YvesTumor with festival dates at IIIPointsPitchforkParis and PrimaveraWeekender later this fall.The Dare is solo project of vocalist, songwriter and producer Harrison Patrick Smith. Bursting on to the scene with the ubiquitous “Girls,” his early releases drew praise from GQWThe New York TimesDazedThe FADERNYLON and more and nods from Charli XCX, Phoebe Bridgers and many more. More music from The Dare is imminent.Lol Tolhurst x Budgie x Jacknife Lee is made up of two of the most illustrious and inventive drummers of the post-punk era: Lol Tolhurst (The Cure) and Budgie (Siouxsie & The Banshees and The Creatures), along with stellar producer and multi-instrumentalist Garret ‘Jacknife’ Lee. The group will release their hard-hitting debut album, Los Angeleson November 3 via Play It Again Sam. The album’s 13 tracks dive into freedom and slavery, beauty and decay, hope and despair and features guest vocalists and musicians including James Murphy (LCD Soundsystem), The Edge (U2),Isaac Brock (Modest Mouse), Mary Lattimore, Mark Bowen (IDLES) and more.
