Ryley Tate Says “Like I Love You”

Singer-songwriter and producer Ryley Tate releases his emotional new single “Like I Love You.”

Built around gentle guitar strumming and brush-stroke drumming, the soaring ballad’s melody and vulnerable lyrics cast an immediate — and lingering — spell.

“I wanna be everything to someone,” Tate begins the song over acoustic guitar. While the 16-year-old is ready to fall in love, he soon learns that matters of the heart are complicated.  “You tell me you love me and beg me to stay, but you don’t even realize you push me away,” he croons plaintively before asking: “Tell me, do you love me like I love you?” It’s a startling calling card that Tate has had up his sleeve for a while now.

“Every time I play it live, I almost cry,” the hotly tipped newcomer says of the track. “It is my baby, and I’m so excited to get it out in the world.” It’s impossible to not be captivated by Tate’s long-gestating anthem. From a sweeping chorus to lyrics that detail painful heartbreak, “Like I Love You” exudes authenticity and innate musicality. This commitment to conveying the full spectrum of his artistry has been a lifelong journey.

At the age of two, Tate began to show an interest in music, which his parents actively supported. Before long, he had taught himself the guitar, piano, drums, and ukulele, and started singing. At 15, he tried out for The Voice and reached the blind auditions. All four chairs turned when he performed a cover of Robyn’s “Dancing On My Own” and mentorship from Irish superstar Niall Horan began soon thereafter.

Now, with the arrival of “Like I Love You,” Ryley Tate officially introduces himself and sets the stage for a breakthrough 2024 and beyond.
