Rolling Loud Portugal Day 3

Rolling Loud Portugal 2023, taking place in Portimão on the southern Algarve coast, closed the three-day rap festival on Friday, July 7th with spectacular flair. The Western European event confirmed itself as a global affair, offering both known and up-and-coming talent from both sides of the Atlantic. Rolling Loud Portugal is the original European Rolling Loud with its first occurrence in 2022, following Rolling Loud Rotterdam last weekend and preceding the first-ever Rolling Loud Germany.

The third and final day of Rolling Loud Portugal 2023 was headlined by Philadelphia native Meek Mill. He sang his anthems with help from the loud and clear audience, including the party hit “Dreams and Nightmares.” He also took a moment in his set to honor fellow rapper Pop Smoke, who lost his life in 2020, by playing his song “Dior.” Other American names included Gucci Mane and Ski Mask The Slump God. Gucci Mane performed his hits, including “Both,” featuring Drake, who recently started his ‘It’s All A Blur Tour’ in North America. Ski Mask The Slump God first made his debut at the festival in Portugal this year when he came out on Day 2 for a surprise performance of “Costa Rica” with J.I.D. During his set, he played new sounds and joined DJ Scheme whom he has worked with in the past on songs like “E-ER.” He also honored his late friends, XXXTentacion and Juice WRLD, by covering some of their songs.

UK stars Digga D, D-Block Europe (DBE), Tion Wayne, and Unknown T continued to bring the heat to the beach. The drill rappers excited the crowd during their individual sets as they performed hits such as “Body” and the unreleased “Gray Tracky.”

One highlight from the weekend occurred when popular YouTube streamer and rapper iShowSpeed performed his viral songs, including “Shake.” Dressed in his typical Portugal football kit, he joined DJ Scheme to perform their new Brazilian-funk-influenced collaboration released just in time for the festival, “Portuginies.”

While Rolling Loud Portugal 2023 may now be over, it is planned to be a singular festival for many years to come because of its popularity and uniqueness. More photos and videos from all three days can be found at @RollingLoud on Instagram, Twitter, and YouTube.
