Nemzzz Releases New Summer Single “Escape”
Nemzzz unveils his much-anticipated new single ‘Escape’, which lands following weeks of teasing on TikTok with fans already racking up over 50k creations to the single. ‘Escape’ sees Nemzzz lament the pitfalls of money and fame, meeting his evocative bars with producer Zel’s emotive blend of elegant piano trills, stripped-back production and icy hi-hats. The single arrives with a monochromatic visual shot by DonProd, featuring Nemzzz alone walking the streets at night and close-ups of a Rolls Royce spliced with photographs of the city. Nemzzz’s most introspective video to-date, ‘Escape’ marks a visual representation of the loneliness that can come from success. Nemzzz’s rise continues as he is unveiled as the face of the 2024/2025 Manchester United home kit, the start of a long-term relationship between Nemzzz and the club.
Nemzzz’s ascent is truly unmatched – the rapper is fresh from headlining the Other Stage slot at
Wireless Festival this weekend, he also popped out at Nicki Minaj’s record-breaking show at Manchester’s Co-op Live, following his debut mixtape drop in March that landed to critical acclaim and a spot at #17 in the UK album charts. Already chasing the mixtape with two singles, ‘WYA’ and ‘ATM’ – Nemzzz is the most prolific rapper in the game.
Nemzzz wrapped his sell-out second headline UK/IRE tour in May, hitting stages in Dublin, Glasgow, London (with a surprise drop in from K-Trap) and a homecoming show featuring Central Cee at Manchester Academy – Nemzzz’s biggest show to date in the city. Nemzzz has his first tour of AUS+NZ set for this October followed by a sold-out EU tour – dates below.
Nemzzz’s debut mixtape DO NOT DISTURB landed in March to critical acclaim from the NME, HipHopDx Fader, Uproxx and HYPEBEAST alongside a slew of support from the likes of Spotify, Soundcloud, Apple Music, Amazon Music and YouTube Music. Over the course of the campaign the mixtape was spun across BBC Radio 1 with multiple singles topping the A List at 1Xtra, since launch the tape has racked up over 160M+ streams and has maintained a spot in the top 200 official albums chart. The 11-track tape is Nemzzz’s most expansive drop to date, an exploration of how the young artist is shaped by his upbringing and his fame. Marrying bars laced with Nemzzz’s wicked sense of humour, earworm hooks and a raw soulful-drill production – DO NOT DISTURB cemented Nemzzz’s status as the new titan of UK Rap. Nemzzz surprised fans the week after release, unveiling the Deluxe version featuring collaborations with rap heavyweights Lil Yachty, Headie One and K-Trap.
