Mannywellz & Odeal Wants To “Cry On You”
Singer, songwriter, and producer Mannywellz teams up with fellow R&B artist Odeal for a new version of his track “cry on you,” out now via Vydia.
Written and produced by Mannywellz, “cry on you” is a soulful R&B track with lyrics moving between English, Yoruba, and Nigerian Pidgin. Originally released on Mannywellz’s Small Chops EP on June 5, the song takes on a new dimension with Odeal’s addition, as the two artists bring their distinct vocal styles together for a fresh take on the original record.
“When I first made this song, I loved it, but I always felt like there was room for another voice on it. Odeal really brought that missing piece. The way he approached the record felt so natural, and I feel like he completed it. I’m really happy with how it turned out, and I’m excited for people to hear this version,” shares Mannywellz.
The release follows Mannywellz’s latest seven-track EP, Small Chops, featuring fellow Nigerian artists Wale and Lekan. Entirely written and produced by Mannywellz, the project blends R&B and soul while exploring themes of love, vulnerability, and emotional connection. Named after the popular Nigerian assortment of bite-sized appetizers, Small Chops serves as an introduction to his forthcoming full-length album, offering listeners a taste of what’s to come.
