Lord Sko Has Big Lebowski-Themed Video for “Randy Moss”
Packing his smoked out rhymes with writerly detail, Lord Sko chronicles the minutiae of the life of a stoner. Paying tribute to one of cinema’s most legendary cannabis connoisseurs, Lord Sko abides in the The Big Lebowski-inspired video for “Randy Moss.” Produced by Wrex Mason, “Randy Moss” is a luxurious slice of high threadcount raps, filled with sparkling vibes and loping snares that add elegance to Sko’s psychedelic smack talk: “Dissolve an acid tab watch the patterns shift/Money talks said I need a cut like a masochist/Threw some Timberlands on and grew about half an inch/Promise you that your s*** ain’t perfect if you didn’t practice it,” he spits.
Directed by Jason Goldwatch, the video for “Randy Moss” is a love letter to The Coen Brothers’ The Big Lebowski, with Lord Sko replacing Jeff Bridges in the role of “The Dude.” Wearing the character’s signature bath robes, Sko goes bowling, partakes in a seaside funeral, and takes a bath with a ferret, as Goldwatch’s direction ties the room together. The video presents a parade of references to the 1998 movie, with stand-ins for John Goodman and Peter Stormare, and plenty of easter eggs that true Lebowski heads will appreciate.
“Randy Moss” is the closing song on PIFF, Sko’s recently released debut album, and follows videos for highlights like “Understand” and “Bong Rips.” Inspired by the stoner classics of the blog era, PIFF restores that feeling, with adventurous samples and vibrant, hazy soundscapes, crafted by some of the finest producers in the East Coast, including Harry Fraud, Statik Selektah, Tony Seltzer, A-Lau, FearDorian, and more. Sko’s detail-rich verses, malleable flows, and brash attitude make him a natural collaborator with artists of all styles and generations, including Conway The Machine, Curren$y, MAVI, POLO PERKS <3 <3 <3, Del The Funkee Homosapien, and Grand Puba of Brand Nubian. With additional production from Mike Shabb, Wino Willy, and Arlo Walker, the 20-year-old prodigy who has been working with Lord Sko since 2022’s MUSEUM, PIFF is available everywhere via UPTOWN SH!T/STIMULATED.
PIFF continues Sko’s rise as one of New York’s finest emcees, who proudly carries on the tradition of his hometown sound, while adding a relatable spin. He started rapping when he was a teenager, releasing his first mixtape at only 17 years-old, teaming up with the even younger producer Arlo Walker to create Museum. In 2023, Sko released United Palace, an accomplished project named after the Washington Heights theater, which established him as one of the most exciting emcees in the Five Boroughs. In April, Lord Sko launches the “PIFF Tour,” his first-ever nationwide headlining tour. Featuring support from LifeOfThom, the tour kicks off in Boston on April 16, making its way through major markets like Los Angeles, Atlanta, and Chicago before concluding in Vancouver on May 8. Sko performs a very special hometown show in NYC on April 22nd, headlining Baby’s All Right.
