
Lebra Jolie Kicks Off 2025 With Brand New Anthem “Turn Me Up”
Houston rapper Lebra Jolie (Interscope Records) is starting off the new year hot with a brand new single titled “Turn Me Up.” The song is a masterclass in swagger and unapologetic self-assurance where Jolie harnesse the essence of empowerment and individuality, with a playful yet commanding tone that lets her listeners know there’s no tuning her out.
“Tell that ho come out and play you know I lay shit down / Heard she mad about one of these n***as and he my favorite now / He call me baby now / And shit we just met / You really wasting yoru breath, no shade but this n***a just left,” raps Jolie.
Jolie also released a music video directed by Jerry Morka to accompany the single’s release. In the video, Jolie rides around in her whip and joins her girls in a store before taking things back to the streets to let everyone know she’s one of a kind.
Jolie’s new single follows her 2024 EP titled What Was Said? which marked her highly anticipated return to the rap game. The project features Infectious tracks such as “Come Get Me,” “Risk It All,” and “Talk My Shit 4” which had fans rocking through the entire summer season. Jolie also teamed up with an A-list group of guest features for the EP including Saweetie, Skilla Baby, and BIA. In addition to the features, Jolie also put in work with an reputable producers including Vega Heartbreak, DJ Chose, Southside Yoko, Pi’erre Bourne, and Derrick Milano. In a statement to fans, Jolie revealed this new chapter of her career is a culmination of the decade-long work she’s done to get her to this point. “I have a competitive spirit, and it is nice to do something for so long and see that it pays off. They see my journey and that I’ve been grinding for a long time, and they know it’s possible,” she says.
After bursting onto the scene with her 2022 Interscope Records self-titled debut, Jolie released another heater of a project titled The Pressure Pack that highlighted her raw, elite freestyle ability. She kept fans listening with the release of the BIA-assisted banger titled “Yeah.” Before that, Jolie steamrolled through the independent scene with three projects, Murder She Wrote, Brianna, and Now What while also unleashing a boatload of singles and freestyles. Jolie also has collaborations with the likes of Babyface Ray and Rob49 while also landing coveted features in iconic outlets such as Billboard, Pitchfork, and Essence.
