Kelly Clarkson Returns with New Single ‘I’d Be Lyin’
Global pop superstar Kelly Clarkson returns with newest single ‘I’d Be Lyin’ on Friday July 17th. This is her first release in 2026, marking over a years time since she’s come out with a new tune. Her latest release prior to ‘I’d Be Lyin’ was June 20th’s 2025 hit single ‘Where Have You Been.’ After a long layover, Clarkson is finally back. Fans have waited long enough to hear the Grammy Award Winning artist belt out a new, fresh tune and she hasn’t disappointed.
‘I’d Be Lyin’ epitomizes who Kelly Clarkson is as an artist. She’s back to her roots with this song and that’s exactly where she should be. Fans continue to praise the newest single for its ‘Since You Been Gone’ energy. This is, of course, referring to her 2004 hit single the world has adored for over two decades. The track is sarcastic yet empowering. It’s fun, upbeat and exactly what you’d expect from a summer single. The energy is contagious, infectious and urges you to get off your feat and move. And of course, her vocals are nothing short of stunning, as always.
The song speaks of a lover who is ready to move on, yet is unsure if they can. ‘I’d be lyin if I said, ‘I do”/ You’re only hearin’ what you’re wantin’ to.’ In a way, Clarkson is attempting to convey two sides of a relationship. One lover trapped, the other unwilling to let go. There was once a time where it worked, but that ship has sailed. The toxicity of this relationship echoes throughout the tune.

She joked with fans, interacted with them and made it enjoyable for all who attended.
Prior to this release, Clarkson has been seen elsewhere thriving in her new role. She’s since been a coach on NBC’s THE VOICE for a whopping 11 seasons.
