Katseye Continues to Impress – Will Headline 2026 American Music Awards
The 52nd annual American Music Awards will have Katseye perform on May 25th, 2026, at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. After making their high-energy Coachella debut on Friday, April 10th, the hit pop group looks to captivate audiences once again with their upbeat and lively demeanor. The group’s energetic Western Pop mixed with their K-Pop appearance and style has catapulted them to new heights. Delivering a show-stopping performance is the main priority, but the group will look to come home with some silverware as well. They appear under three categories as nominees: New Artist of the Year, Best Music Video “Gnarly”, and Breakthrough Pop Artist.
Taylor Swift leads the way in nominations with eight, looking to smash her record of forty wins at the AMA’s. Nominees like SOMBR and Olivia Dean will battle it out in New Artist of the Year, Song of the Year, and Breakthrough Album of the Year. Both of the newcomers also appear in four other categories for this year.
The AMAs strive to find performances to both honor the most influential artists of the year and celebrate multi-genre, cross-generational music. As their influence and versatility stretch across multiple genres, it’s no coincidence that Katseye will be the first group to perform in the night. Their multicultural and multinational identity embodies the spirit of the AMAs. If their performance at Coachella is any indication of what we might hear from them at the AMA’s, the world is in for a treat. Opening with their newest song “PINKY UP” (first ever live performance) and closing with fan favorite “Gnarly” proved to be a winning formula.
This will be a yet another opportunity to impress fans as they await their new EP WILD, headlined by their hit single “PINKY UP”, releasing on August 14, 2026. The show will be hosted by Queen Latifah, who previously co-hosted in 1995, and air on CBS and Paramount+ at 8pm.
