Juliana Releases “La GuapA”

Juliana Releases “La GuapA”

Juliana, recognized as one of the most versatile and representative voices in Colombian and Latin American music, returns with her newest single, “La GuapA,” an uplifting and powerful Latin pop anthem that completely redefines the meaning of the word guapa, transforming it into a movement of pride, strength, and female self-acceptance.

In Colombia and across Latin America, being guapa means far more than simply being physically beautiful. The word transcends appearance. A guapa is a woman who is brave, capable, and powerful, someone who moves through life confidently and never asks for permission to shine. For Juliana, this release represents one of the most intimate and revealing chapters of both her artistic and personal journey.

“This is a song I had never been able to write before because, after many years of inner work and learning to have a better relationship with myself, I can finally recognize myself as a guapa woman,” Juliana shares. “The way I see myself and the way I feel about myself has been one of the greatest challenges of my life. This song is meant to lift every woman’s self-esteem. Whether she’s at a club, driving in her car, or standing in front of the mirror in her underwear, I want her to realize that no matter what she looks like, she is a guapawoman.”

The artist also reflects on the profound meaning the word has held throughout her life:

“I vividly remember that when I was little and I fell down, my dad, being proudly from Antioquia, would always tell me, ‘Get up, you’re a guapa girl!’ Since I was a child, guapa has also meant courage, resilience, and inner strength.”

La GuapA” was written in Los Angeles alongside Mauricio Rengifo, Andrés Torres, and Juancho Muñoz. It was born from the same creative chemistry that produced her hit “La Colombiana,” but this time expands into a heartfelt tribute to Latina women and to women everywhere who face life with resilience, determination, and unwavering strength.

The music video for “La GuapA” radiates magnetism, energy, and attitude, elevating its message of female empowerment through rich symbolism and striking visuals. Inspired by Colombia’s vibrant poison dart frogs, the country with the greatest diversity of these species in the world, the video illustrates that femininity is also powerful, commanding respect and admiration.

The visual piece highlights the resilience, determination, and grit of a guapa woman who navigates the world through her work, her boundless beauty, and the effortless confidence with which she embraces everyday life in a traditional marketplace. The women featured throughout the video embody mystique, passion, pride in their work, and the beauty of being hardworking women who face life fearlessly, ready to conquer every new day. It is a visual celebration not only of their beauty, but also of the unmistakable strength that defines them.

As Juliana explains: “A guapa woman is not delicate porcelain meant only to be admired. She is brave, magnetic, and powerful. Not so people fear us, but so they treat us with care and respect.”

At the heart of the concept is the belief that true beauty comes from attitude rather than stereotypes.

Accordingly, one of the video’s signature choreography moves centers on flipping the hair as a symbol of freedom, confidence, and beauty. The women featured in the official video are the actual owners of the fruit stands where it was filmed, giving the production an authentic and naturally captivating spirit.

The video was filmed in the Antioquia region, between San Rafael and Medellín, by audiovisual production company Treinta&Seis, directed by Paloma, with creative direction by Juancho Muñoz and Amalia Gómez.

This release arrives at a milestone moment in Juliana’s career. Most recently, she joined Emyl Rusev and Juan Duque on the viral hit “Así de Rico (Va uno a ver y ve) Remizzz,” which became the anthem of Colombia’s historic celebration during the 2026 FIFA World Cup. She was also invited by Rosalía to appear in her celebrated “confessional” during the opening night of the Lux Tour across Latin America, and traveled to Hawaii to participate in a series of special events surrounding the launch of Disney’s live-action film MOANA.

“La GuapA” further solidifies the new musical era that began with “La Colombiana” and has continued through her previous singles “El Achantado” and “PorquE Si Te QuedAs.”
