Julia Adrian, a New York-based singer-songwriter, recently released her newest single. The new single “Taxi Light”, best described as an upbeat pop song includes ‘oops-did-I-just-say-that’ lyrics.  Recorded in Nashville, TN and produced by Tone Def Productions, this jazz-influenced track looks back on relationships. In the same fashion, it also analyzes with confidence and a little bit of sass.

The single showcases Adrian’s skilled vocals and witty songwriting. The song includes clever lines like “Unfortunately this is not a buffet / Apologies serve a la carte.” By the same token, the new track hits its target audience hard. Adrian’s impressive phrasing and smooth vocals prove to be incredibly catchy.

In her new song, Adrian draws on the Taxi (or Cab) theory as a metaphor. The metaphor speaks to the effect of timing on relationships. The famous theory from Sex and the City, though around for decades, has been a topic recently revived in pop culture. Additionally, the rising artist’s single delves into the concept behind the theory, and the idea that a relationship can be as simple as being the right person in the right place at the right time. Taxi Light’s quippy lyrics comment on themes of codependency and contradictory messages.  The new single is available now on all major streaming platforms. With a hook that’s sure to get stuck in your head, “Taxi Light” is the perfect addition to any summer playlist. Finally, you can stream the single below!
