Joshua Thew Announces Single And Launch Show For New EP
London-based singer and songwriter, Joshua Thew, has just released his new single ‘Reveal’ in preparation for his new EP, Endlessly—set to be released on August 15. To celebrate the release, the artist will be holding a special launch show on Monday, September 23 in London, located on The Lower Third on Denmark Street. The album will include seven tracks, with three songs— ‘This Time,’ ‘Work For You,’ and ‘Reveal’ —already released. From what can be seen through the already released songs, and what can be expected for the rest, the EP is extremely personal, with touching lyrics as well as melodic and soulful vocals. Thew shared his thoughts about the EP on Instagram, stating, “Recorded through a whirlwind of personal change with the dust still hanging in the air. I’m happy to share this with you all soon.”
The most recent song release, ‘Reveal,’ has a slow yet powerful sound, compared to the tracks ‘Work For You,’ and ‘This Time,’ which hold equally emotional and heartfelt lyrics but have more of a lively and catchy beat. The black-and-white music video for ‘Reveal’ depicts Thew leaning against a pillar, singing as the shot draws further and further back, displaying his physical demeanor and emotion, without any edits being made. The music videos for ‘Work For You,’ and ‘This Time,’ are a creative and artistic expression, including several clips within the video pertaining to the theme of the songs.
Joshua Thew is originally from Hertfordshire, UK, but has spent nearly 18 years living and pursuing his dreams in New York. According to Rollacoaster Magazine, “he danced for the New York City Ballet for a decade until a serious back injury in 2016 led him to pursue music full-time.” In 2019, Thew released his first single ‘Quiet Words’ and since then has been acknowledged by Wonderland Magazine, BBC Introducing, and Flaunt Magazine—to name a few. He has collaborated with other writers and producers such as Cale Hawkins, who has also worked with popular artists such as Charli XCX, Raveena, and Arthur Moon.
