Isabel LaRosa Shows Who Is Her “Favorite”
It’s no surprise that Spotify named Isabel LaRosa one of its Pop Rising Artists to Watch in 2024. With over two million streams per day across her catalog, the young singer/songwriter has experienced a meteoric rise since releasing her first single in fall of 2021. Today, she releases her hotly anticipated single, “favorite” – out now via Slumbo Labs/ RCA Records. Before the official release of “favorite,” the song clip had over 80K creations and over 400 million views from user-generated content across social media platforms. Throughout LaRosa’s performances across her sold-out God’s Watching tour with labelmate Ari Abdul and teasing on social media, there has been a surge of requests from fans across the globe for the release of “favorite.” The single features her signature dark twist on a reggaeton beat with a mix of English and Spanish lyrics. LaRosa’s success can be attributed – at least in part – to her refreshing vulnerability, which is celebrated by young music fans. To date, LaRosa has nearly one billion streams across audio platforms. She also boasts almost 300 million video streams and five billion short-form video streams. Last year, LaRosa was also chosen as one of only six artists for TikTok’s inaugural Elevate program. Through Elevate, TikTok offers support within the app and beyond, assisting emerging talents in shaping their careers beyond viral success. LaRosa also performed at TikTok in the Mix, a sold-out event at Sloan Park in Mesa, Arizona. The event was streamed live on TikTok, pulling in almost 10 million viewers. Including subsequent re-broadcasts, TikTok in the Mix shattered records with nearly 34 million viewers worldwide. Born in Annapolis, MD, LaRosa grew up enveloped by music. Her father took her to jazz clubs where he played the saxophone and her brother Thomas played guitar. Eventually, she began songwriting with Thomas in elementary school and from there, a creative duo was formed. To this day, LaRosa writes and produces music with her brother.
LaRosa has a unique ability to turn coming-of-age stories about infatuation and heartbreak into addictive hits for the new generation. Her videos are often inspired by sci-fi, thriller, and horror movies and television shows, and provide the backdrop for her sonic universe. With viral tracks like “i’m yours” and “eyes don’t lie,” LaRosa has received well-deserved acclaim, and has earned positive coverage from outlets like Billboard, 1883 Magazine, LADYGUNN, HITS Magazine, Music Connection, EARMILK and PopDust.
