House Producer Florian Picasso is ‘Waking Dream’
DJ and producer Florian Picasso will be releasing his latest single, ‘Waking Dream’, on the 16th of June via the imprint he established: La Californie Musique. The single has premiered on Complex UK and follows ‘Unwind’ and adds to the artist’s rapidly growing music catalogue. Releasing new music on a near-monthly basis, Florian Picasso continues to appear in the press, having previously garnered support from industry magazines like Deep House Sweden, CLASH Magazine, DJ Mag France, Dancing Astronaut, EDM.com, We Rave You, Your EDM, EARMILK, Mixmag Asia, and Forbes. His music has also aired on the national radio station KISS FM.
Picasso is no stage name, Florian is the great-grandson of the mighty Pablo Picasso. He recently paid tribute to his great grandfather in the most artistic and innovative way with some exceptional shows in the unique location, the Picasso Villa ‘La Californie’. Having collaborated with hip-hop star NAS and famed singer-songwriter John Legend on the single ‘Tomorrow’, his music has been streamed 120 million on Spotify and YouTube.
Just when we least expected it, Florian Picasso switches things up. Unlike the heavier Tech House side he showed in his preceding 2023 releases, namely ‘Unwind’ and ‘The Edge’, he takes a lighter approach in ‘Waking Dream’, a euphoric House track that shimmers with bright keys, a feel-good vocal take, and smashing drums. There, at least, Florian hasn’t changed a thing.
Picasso tells us: “I have been very influenced by the French touch like Cassius and Fred again’s groove for this one.”
