Hanumankind Releases Daring New Single “Big Dawgs”

Rising star and Malayalam rapper Hanumankind is making waves in the music industry. On July 9th, the rapper released, “Big Dawgs,” receiving millions of listens and positive feedback from fans and the media. With hard hitting lyrics and a lively yet smooth beat, this is considered by far their best work yet. The mountains of success that the single has already amassed can be accredited to the music video, which features the Well of Death—a carnival attraction in Southern India. According to StupidDope, “The Well of Death, known for its daring motorcycle stunts and gravity-defying acts, add an intense and thrilling element to the video. Hanumankind powerful performance, combined with the video’s unique setting, has captured the attention of audiences worldwide.”

Shot in Malappuram, in close proximity to Hanumankind’s home, he knew the Well of Death would be a huge and dangerous risk, but felt as though it was the right decision to make for the video. The Hindu states in an interview with Hanumankind, “the idea resonated with their ethos of “no risk, no reward” the rapper says. “This is something all of us have grown up watching, not just in India, but around the world too. We prepped ourselves, shot and released it, and now, here we are.” This isn’t the first time the artist has taken a daring step in the direction of his music videos. For his single “Go To Sleep,” featuring Parmial Shais, the music video pays homage to Fight Club, as there are several violent yet exhilarating fight scenes.

According to Filmibeat, “Hanumankind’s real name is Sooraj Cherukat, originally from Kerala, he moved to Texas as a child and later returned to Bengaluru in 2015.” The artist has been performing throughout different venues in India since 2016, but it wasn’t until 2019 when he released his debut single, “Daily Dose.” Since then, he has released popular and notable singles such as “The Last Dance,” “Ayyayyo,” “Maadeva,” and, of course, “Big Dawgs,” being his most successful track by far. With over 2 million monthly listeners on Spotify, Hanumankind continues to reach new levels of success, and fans are eagerly waiting to see what he has in store for them.
