The Single: Gucci Prada

Yung Saber’s new 2-minute single, “Gucci Prada,” begins with a strong beginning. The auto-tuned drums and kicks are similar to the trap music genre. Then, Saber’s bass voice overtakes the track by singing lyrics showcasing his living his best life in the music video.

The song follows a linear and catchy modern spin on the traditional dancehall genre. At the start, there were a few instances of Afrobeat on the backend. During the middle of the track, Yung Saber introduced his feature, Prince Akeem. Prince Akeem’s part was slowed down in the song with a subtle beat drop. Prince Akeem’s auto-tuned vocals and the slow-motion visuals complement one another as the song resumes the chorus.

Lastly, the song ends with a fade with Yung Saber as the final shot. The dancehall song is taking a storm in the UK music scene.

Introducing Yung Saber

Born and based in South London, Yung Saber has always had a musical background. Firsly, his parents are reggae DJ artists, specifically his father’s collaboration with the reggae legend Dennis Brown.

Yung Saber entered the UK Dancehall scene in 2021 with his jazzy, upbeat debut, “Tump & Kick” in 2021. In the same year, he released a remix of the same title with Big Zeeks, Shantu Force, The Rara, Doktor, and Irah from Link Up TV.

Since his debut, he has appeared at various music festivals such as MADE, Brighton Harbour Festival, Glastonbury, and more venues around the UK.

Later on, he has discussed his music and interviews with Rampage, Seani B, and BBC 1Xtra on radio shows. Saber quotes that his music influences are Super Cat, a Jamaican DJ, and Vybz Kartel, a Jamaican dancehall musician.

“With all the stresses that come with life itself, the song celebrates the times when we are having fun and living that YOLO life, and high end fashion/designer fits being a big part of the dancehall culture we all want to step out looking our best surrounded by good vibes,” he said.
