Zoey: Your music is described as “raw, unapologetically sexy,” and redefining contemporary soul. Can you tell us what inspires you to create music with such a unique style?

Goldiie Lux :Honestly it comes from my mom and how she raised me as a single mother. She taught me that beauty can be found in your own self worth. As a woman I realize I control my own narrative and I want my fans to see me.. my vulnerability, my strengths, and weakness, and want them to really see me as a person.

Zoey:  “Toxic Lullabies” is one of your latest releases. Could you share the story or inspiration behind this EP?

Goldiie Lux :The story I wanted to tell with my latest EP, ‘Toxic Lullabies,’ was how in any type of toxic relationship, you go through the stages of wanting to open up and “feel again” with this new person, and the more you learn about them you become go crazy head over heels, and at times you may act “psycho,” until you ultimately realize they aren’t good for you and you wish you could take back the energy you put into them which comes through on the final track, ‘Unfuk U’.

Zoey: You’ve mentioned that your musical journey began after moving to LA at 21. How did that transition shape your approach to music, and how did you find your place in the music industry?

Goldiie Lux :I found my flow in the music industry by just working with different producers and going through tons of YouTube beats. Later I learned tone, cadence and character is what defines a great song and learned you have to be able to swag a record to get people to care.

Zoey: Your sound transcends genres, blending soul, R&B, and pop. What draws you to these particular genres, and how do you incorporate them into your music?

Goldiie Lux : Listening to Kayne , Kelis, and M.I.A growing up I learned a lot from them about not letting people define who you are and what genre you are. I am me. Sometimes irresponsible, irrational, loving, silly, sexy just me and that will show in my music and comes through in my Gemini energy. My visuals are going to make the viewer able access pieces of my soul. What DaBaby did with bringing real visuals back for hiphop, I will do that for my base as well.

Zoey: The concept of “unconditional love” is a central theme in your music. Can you share how this theme plays a role in your latest releases and the stories you tell through your songs?

Goldiie Lux : My latest set of releases plays toward how wild it can get while in a relationship, but the concept of unconditional love comes more into play about how people should view themselves. Everybody makes mistakes and it’s part of life to own up to it and grow from it. It’s easy to forget to love and care for yourself, especially while in a relationship, but it’s so so important to not lose sight of who you are. Us Gemini’s have good hearts just don’t try to play us or a different side comes out.

Zoey: Could you provide insights into your creative process? How do you typically go about crafting your music, and what’s your favorite aspect of that process?

Goldiie Lux : I just go to this place in my mind and really just pour out emotions and find space to be vulnerable and kind of reckless. My mind is full of absolute chaos and I’m getting better at learning how to cope with my problems by giving not ignoring them, but instead letting them find a place in the stories I tell in my songs. I want the world to see the person I wanna become and hope to touch lives like the artist I grew up loving.

Zoey:The video for your track “Psycho” is visually captivating. What was the inspiration behind the video’s concept and how it complements the song’s message?

Goldiie Lux :The video for “Psycho” is essentially about not letting anyone tell me what is right and wrong or how to feel as a person and as a woman. My visuals have no boundaries and I’m super excited to show everyone the progression of concepts as I release more over time.

Zoey: What artists or musicians have had the most significant influence on your music and artistic identity?

Goldiie Lux : Nicki Minaj, M.I.A, and Kelis are all major influences for me because they are just badass females that don’t let people box them in.

In conclusion, Goldiie Lux’s music transcends boundaries, offering a unique and unapologetically sexy take on contemporary soul. With her latest release, “Toxic Lullabies,” she invites listeners on a soulful journey that defies genre constraints, leaving an indelible impression. Her visually captivating video for “Psycho” complements her music, adding a visual dimension to her artistry. As Goldiie Lux continues to redefine and push the boundaries of music, her work serves as a testament to the power of artistic authenticity.
