Ella Vos unveils new song “Mountain”
“Mountain,” the new single from acclaimed vocalist and songwriter Ella Vos, is out today. The new track, co-written by Vos with husband Tommy English and Nate Campany (Caroline Polachek, Rina Sawayama, Dua Lipa), debuts alongside a video directed by Kate Rentz and created with an all-women team in the Angeles National Forest.
“The mountain behind my house gives me lots of feelings,” says Vos. “She can be overwhelming, and she is grand, ominous and beautiful. In comparing myself to the mountain, she reminds me that I am strong, resilient, and even gorgeous. I’ve been working on being gentler to myself and reminding myself that I’ve survived a lot and have come out stronger on the other side. Mountain is about finding power in self-love.”
The new track follows Vos’ latest single “Glitter and Tears,” which debuted in October—watch the video here—and was later reworked by Thai-American singer and actress Myra Molloy—listen to the remix here. More music from Vos is imminent. Acclaimed for her dreamy soundscapes and songwriting that explores modern women’s lives in their totality, Vos released the Watch and Wait EP in 2019 to critical acclaim from The New York Times, UPROXX—which called it “cathartic and confessional,” Earmilk and more. Vos went on to play a series of music festivals and embarked on a full headline tour while undergoing treatment. Her 2017 debut album Words I Never Said was praised by the likes of Rolling Stone, HuffPost, Nylon, Coveteur and more. Vos has consistently sold out shows across North America, and with more than 300 million streams amassed independently, her songs have soundtracked hit series on ABC, MTV, E!, The CW and more.
