Duckwrth Shares New Alternative Single “Toxic Romantic”

Following the announcement of his highly anticipated 3rd studio LP All American F*ckBoy, today, genre-defying artist Duckwrth unleashes his newest single Toxic Romantic.” A bold and unfiltered confessional wrapped in head-thrashing alternative punk-rock, the track plunges into the self-destructive cycles of modern love and his reckless pursuit of desire.

A sonic jolt straight into his most toxic habits, “Toxic Romantic” marks a pivotal moment in the album’s narrative, peeling back the layers of Duckwrth’s romantic recklessness. Over pulsating production (BLK ODYSSY and Two Fresh), his introspective lyricism lays bare his internal battle between self-awareness and indulgence. “I’m so problematic. My baby girl, she can’t stand it”—a line that encapsulates the guilt, selfishness, and thrill that fuel his toxic patterns.

“I’ve been very aware of the bad habits I perpetuate—like entertaining other women while in a relationship—but that awareness didn’t stop me from being selfish in the past,” says Duckwrth.

The official music video captures a battle between two versions of Duckwrth—one chasing reckless temptation, the other fighting for control. Set in the desert, his alter ego speeds through a high-stakes chase, symbolizing his impulsive urges. Flashing between chaos and electrifying performance shots, the video blurs the lines between indulgence and restraint, bringing his internal struggle to life.

With All American F*ckBoy, Duckwrth confronts the generational cycles of trauma that have shaped his relationships. The album will serve as both a confession and a reckoning, exploring themes of infidelity, temptation, loss, mental health, and accountability. At its core, it is a tale of recklessness, redemption, and growth—capturing the painful yet powerful struggle toward self-love. It’s Duckwrth’s most personal work to date.

An international touring sensation, Duckwrth has been on hiatus from touring since 2022. He is now making a highly anticipated comeback with his first headline tour in over two years, with details to be announced soon.

With over 800M+ streams to his name, Duckwrth has built a loyal global following that spans music, fashion, film, and television. He made recent appearances on Apple Music’s The Estelle Show and New Rory & MAL, while earning accolades from BET, Rolling Stone, Notion, Wonderland, CLASH, The Needle Drop, A Book Of and more for his previous singles “Had Enough” (exploring themes of substance abuse) and “Grey Scale” (fear of commitment). Duckwrth has been featured in campaigns for industry giants like Adidas, Loewe and Camper. This year, he walked in TOMBOGO’s SS25 NYFW show as well as collaborated with the German jewelry brand Vitaly (here), further cementing his status as a multifaceted creative force and a key influencer in contemporary culture.
