COIN Releases New Single ‘Slack’ and Music Video

COIN released their new single “Slack” from their upcoming album, “I’m Not Afraid of Music Anymore” which will be released on Sept. 13 via 10k Projects, along with its music video.

The band described the song as a way to reflect on their creative evolution as musicians in a post on X, formerly known as Twitter.

‘Slack’ is a love letter to our band, tying the journey together with a loose knot,” the band wrote. “Coin has been stretched in every direction, but we embrace every shape and size, even the ones that no longer fit right into place.”

They also called it “the most unmistakably COIN song of all time” on X ahead of its release, alluding to the song’s lyrics- which are filled with references to previous fan favorites such as “Talk Too Much” and “Crash My Car,” which has been a treat for longtime listeners to pick up on.

The music video also featured symbols from each of their previous albums, which are propped behind the band.

“Slack” is the album’s third single, with “Strawberry Jam” and “Take It or Leave It” having been released in June and July, respectively. All three singles were produced by COIN in collaboration with Gabe Simon, who has also worked with Dua Lipa, Noah Kahan, Lana Del Rey and Maroon 5, among others.

The album title suggests that the band has unlocked an “entire new volume, with more depth than they’ve ever shared before,” while remaining true to their alternative pop sound and “trademark dynamic energy,” Live Nation shared in a statement.

To immerse fans in their new era, COIN will also kick off their North American tour on Sept. 29 in Franklin, Tenn., and continue into early 2025. Tickets are available for purchase here.

“I Am Not Afraid of Music Anymore,” COIN’s fifth studio album, is slated to be released Sept.13 via 10k Projects. Pre-order the album and see the tracklist here.
