Chicocurlyhead Releases New R&B Single “Control”

Riding the momentum of his latest single  “I’ll Show You”, featuring viral Malaysian pop star Yuna—which reached the Top 50 Viral songs in Panama Chicocurlyhead returns with his latest English single “CONTROL.” Chicocurlyhead is shaping up to be one of the most exciting voices in music. He recently won the 2024 LAMC Discovery Award (whose past recipients include music stars Nathy Peluso, Carla Morrison, Ile, Jesse Baez, Buscabulla, A. Chal, among others), where he also featured as a performer, selling out NYC’s Drom in the East Village. Along with that, he made his television performance debut on Good Day New York as well as appeared on New York Public Radio WNYC’s “All of It.”

Released under Zarpazo Records, a division of HYBE Latin America, “CONTROL” marks another milestone in the rising stars’ expanding musical catalog. The track highlights Chico’s knack for sonic hybridization and experimentation. It features his signature lyrical style, which weaves English lyrics with touches of Spanish, and deftly layers an R&B guitar groove with Latin and hip-hop influences. The single is out now on all streaming platforms.

Drawing from his Panamanian roots, Chicocurlyhead uses his signature flow to speak to his multicultural experience. His lyrics convey a sense of honesty, loyalty, and devotion, which are traits that Chico values deeply. He sings, “I think I’d die for you, I stand on business like I’m Druski on my life I would,” signaling his loyalty in a clever nod to the popular comedian.”

“CONTROL is a song that I think explains devotion to that person and commitment to whoever that person may be in your life.”

From his signature flow to his unique production style to his multicultural experiences, Chicocurlyhead blends sounds and cultures together in a way that feels entirely new.  “I approach music in a way that I feel like you’ve never heard before,” he says. “The goal is to unite and not divide…in my opinion, a lot of people just stand with the trends and forget their values along the way.” The stage is set for Chicocurlyhead, as he continues to impress and share more of himself through his music.
