Beabadoobee Drops New Single ‘Ever Seen’
British indie pop star Beabadoobee released her sparkling new single “Ever Seen” from her forthcoming album, “This Is How Tomorrow Moves” on Monday.
A solo-written track produced by Rick Rubin and Jacob Bugden, Beabadoobee describes a personal mental breakdown mended by love and support from a partner. The lyrics center an infatuation with a sweet compliment she received.
While the first half of the song focuses on the compliment given to her, the second chorus sees her turn it from herself to her partner from her own perspective. She goes from “Said I had thе prettiest eyеs he’d ever seen,” to “He has the prettiest eyes I’ve ever seen.”
“Ever Seen” is the album’s third single. It follows “Coming Home” and “Take a Bite,” both also solo-written by Beabadoobee and produced by Rubin and Bugden. In an interview with Elle, she described the album as “her ‘learning how to move past that bit of my life, but not being so angry about it.'”
Fans got a first listen of the track on BBC Radio 1’s New Music Show with Jack Saunders on Monday. The accompanying music video, shot in Japan earlier this year, directed by Jake Erland dropped shortly after.
Looking forward, the single comes after announcements for a tour beginning this fall on September 8. Fans can see Beabadoobee live across North America, the U.K. and Europe on a tour spanning three months. The bands Hovvdy and Momma will join the Filipina-British singer-songwriter in North America and the U.K., respectively. All tickets are on sale now and dates can be found here.
